FOR THE RECORD: Obama sat on General Petraeus Affair – That’s Treason.

November 23, 2012

21st Century Wire Says: The General Petraeus Affair could come back to bite Obama badly. The White House knew about it, covered it up, all in order to secure an election victory. That’s a shrewd risk on the part of the White House. Power it seems, trumps the general welfare for some.

General Petraeus and “the spy who loved him”

By Jon Rappoport

It’s absurd to think the FBI just found out about CIA Director Petraeus’ affair with Paula Broadwell, his biographer. The timing is too convenient.

The FBI knew about the affair some time ago and, under strict orders, kept their mouths shut until just after Election Day. If they hadn’t, the scandal would have blown up during Obama’s campaign run.

During the period the FBI knew about Petraeus’ affair, they also knew he was completely vulnerable to blackmail. In FBI and CIA circles, to have done nothing about it is considered treasonous. Putting a gag on these FBI people had to been done by the White House.

The latest word is that Petraeus will not testify before Congress about what really happened in Benghazi. He “may be called” on the carpet at a future time, which could mean never.

His absence will help conceal details of the Chris Stevens murder and the build-up of US-sponsored terrorists in the Benghazi sector of Libya.

In fact, Petraeus’ initial statements to Congress, behind closed doors on September 14, led legislators to believe that absurd film trailer was the cause of the “uprising” at the house where Stevens was attacked and killed. Was the General’s ridiculous declaration made under orders from the White House, who had the blackmail goods on him?

Then, finally, on October 26th, Petraeus, perhaps fed up at how he was being used by the White House to provide cover for the president, stated: “No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need [in Bengazi]. Claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.”

In this whole scenario, we would be looking at a potential case of double blackmail. First by the White House, who knew of the affair sometime ago, and second, by whoever might have wrung CIA and military secrets out of Petraeus because they knew about his affair with Broadwell.

What does that make Paula Broadwell. In intelligence parlance, she would be a classic “honey trap.”

By circumstance, by accident, or on purpose?

So, How Many Syrian Terrorists Come from Libya?

November 14, 2012

The U.S. supported opposition which overthrew Libya’s Gadaffi was largely comprised of Al Qaeda terrorists

According to a 2007 report by West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center’s center, the Libyan city of Benghazi was one of Al Qaeda’s main headquarters – and bases for sending Al Qaeda fighters into Iraq – prior to the overthrow of Gaddafi:

Al Qaeda is now largely in control of Libya.  Indeed, Al Qaeda flags were flown over the Benghazi courthouse once Gaddafi was toppled.

(Incidentally, Gaddafi was on the verge of invading Benghazi in 2011, 4 years after the West Point report cited Benghazi as a hotbed of Al Qaeda terrorists. Gaddafi claimed – rightly it turns out – that Benghazi was an Al Qaeda stronghold and a main source of the Libyan rebellion.  But NATO planes stopped him, and protected Benghazi.)

CNN, the Telegraph,  the Washington Times, and many other mainstream sources confirm that Al Qaeda terrorists from Libya have since flooded into Syria to fight the Assad regime.

Mainstream sources also confirm that the Syrian opposition is largely comprised of Al Qaeda terrorists.  See thisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthis and this.

The U.S. has been arming the Syrian opposition since 2006. The post-Gaddafi Libyan government is also itself a top funder and arms supplier of the Syrian opposition.

AMERICAN BEAUTY: Petraeus Affair Used to Cloud Obama’s Benghazigate

November 13, 2012

Cover-up: General Petraeus and Operative Paula Broadwell

The mistress of General Petraeus – one Paula Broadwell, was no ordinary fling, and is said to be pivotal in his resignation. But what’s all this really about…

As a result, the former CIA head won’t be testifying in the upcoming Congressional hearings on Obama’s cock-up in Benghazi. Very convenient. The FBI raided Broadwell’s residence immediately following the disclosure.

Paula Broadwell, maiden name ‘Krantz’, is a top-line US intelligence operative, and has links to arms dealer Jan Henrik Jebsen, who set up her position at Tufts University where she ran the Jebsen Center for Counter-Terrorism Studies at Tufts Fletcher School. Jebsen also has ties to arch-neocons Scooter LibbyDouglas Feith, and Michael Ledeen through his board position with the pro-Israeli Hudson Institute. The Hudson is directly tied to Likud in Israel, and works to cultivate the idea of radical Islam as the chief threat to the west. Paula Broadwell is in the middle of this matrix, and she herself has also worked extensively in Israel and Jordan, as one could image.

Broadwell’s father Paul Krantz seems to know something, telling the New York Daily News, ‘it’s about more than the affair’.

Paula Broadwell may well have been a kind of elite “honey trap”. It’s a complex web, and the American media would do itself a favour by looking into it properly.

Enter the spoiler…

One can’t ignore the obvious overtones of possible foreign operatives (hmm…) working within the Washington circle, and we should also look into Mrs Jill Kelley, her maiden name is ‘Khawam’ and is apparently the daughter of a Lebanese immigrant. It’s Jill Kelley who kicked off with mistress Paula Broadwell sent her harassing emails telling her to ‘back off’ Petraeus.

‘Socialite’ Kelley’s complaint made to FBI, who then handed it House Leader Eric Cantor(R), and an investigation was launched. Cantor had recently promised Israel’s Netanyahu that the GOP House would act as a ‘check’ on the White House’s apparent de-prioritising  of Israel. What amazing is how they managed to sit on this until after the election – it would have crashed Obama’s run, so somehow it didn’t.

Why is Mrs Kelley is an ‘unpaid social liaison’ to U.S. CENTCOM working out of the military headquarters based at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, a base which overseas oversees operations in the Middle East, including Iraq and Afghanistan? ‘Unpaid’ is often a status used for spies working as informants. If that’s the case, then Jill Kelley’s cover is blown. The White House will want to bury this one as deep as possible.

Then there’s the problem of Broadwell out on the speaking circuit claiming the US CIA safe house in Benghazi run by Christopher Stevens was being used as a ‘secret prison’. There are also allegations that Stevens was organising the gun-running of ex-Gaddafi stockpiles into Syria for the American and British-backed FSA terrorists. Business Insider reports that Ambassador Stevens could’ve been linked with Syrian FSA and al Qaida terrorists – which stands to reason because Benghazi is an al Qaida hot-bed. Obama and Clinton kept the scandal quiet because it would’ve killed Obama’s thin margin of victory, but this latest blip could break it open again – too bad for Mitt.

Where there’s affairs and blackmail in Washington, you will find the term ‘national security’ very nearby. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. What foreign interest regularly traffics in blackmail and has been caught time and time again spying inside US shores? It’s got all the signs of you know who’s chutzpah being involved behind the scenes.

Notice how all this has unfolded after the election – proof at how the Obama Administration’s dark arts are as cunning and dirty as anything Nixon could have cobbled together.

James Corbett attempts to piece it together here…

‘US, UK silent on Bani Walid massacres and chaos’

October 25, 2012

Libya’s government forces claim they have taken control of the opposition stronghold Bani Walid – but say pockets of resistance still remain. That’s after a weeks-long deadly assault – with reports of dozens of residents in the besieged city being killed by pro-government shelling. RT’s Paula Slier has the details. Also, RT’s managed to make contact with an eyewitness in the city. He says militias are carrying out mass killings, as civilians continue to call on the international community to help.

NATO’s LEGACY: ‘Libya in chaos, divided as never before’

October 19, 2012

In Libya, at least 11 people have been killed and scores wounded after militia linked to the defence ministry shelled Bani Walid – a former stronghold of late Colonel Gaddafi. The country remains close to chaos following the Western-backed armed rebellion last year that toppled the nation’s long-time dictator. RT talks to Libyan political activist Ali Alkasa.

BENGHAZI-GATE: Washington’s Violent Internal Feud Over Libya Attack

October 15, 2012

By Sean Sullivan

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has made a concerted effort to exploit the Sept. 11 attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Libya for political gain, David Axelrod charged Sunday.

Obama’s brain, David Axelrod, is feverishly running cover for the Whitehouse in a scandal which could dampen Democrat’s election hopes.

There “is no doubt he is working hard to exploit this issue,” Axelrod, a senior campaign adviser to President Obama, said of Romney in an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

The attack last month in Benghazi claimed the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. The administration initially said it appeared to be a spontaneous attack but later declared the assault an act of terrorism, prompting an outcry from Republicans about the inconsistent assessment.

Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), who sits on the Senate Armed Services committee, suggested Sunday that the Obama administration deliberately misled the public about the nature of the attack in Benghazi.

“I think they’ve been misleading us, but it finally caught up with them,” Graham said on CBS’s “Face The Nation.”

Graham argued that in the immediate aftermath of the attack, there was clear evidence — including a communication from the intelligence community on the ground in Libya to officials in Washington — to suggest the incident was an act of terrorism, not a spontaneous assault.

“Either they’re misleading the American people or incredibly incompetent,” Graham said. “There was no way with anybody looking at all that you could believe five days after the attack it was based on a riot that never occurred. There was no riot at all, so to say that you’re either very incompetent or you’re misleading.”

The State Department acknowledged last week that it rejected appeals for more security in Libya in the months preceding the attack. Vice President Biden said during a Thursday debate with Republican vice-
presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.) that “we weren’t told they wanted more security there.” Axelrod on Sunday said that “we” referred to Biden and Obama.

“I think what he was talking about was what he and the president knew, because these matters were being handled at the State Department,” Axelrod said.

“I guess we will accept that explanation,” senior Romney adviser Ed Gillespie said on the same program. “ ‘We’ generally means our administration. What we are seeing here is an effort by Obama and Biden saying, ‘No, it was the State Department.’ ”

U.S. efforts to investigate the Benghazi attack have been hampered by the political situation in Libya, where key ministries have been on autopilot as politicians have struggled to form the country’s first democratically elected government since the death nearly a year ago of longtime dictator Moammar Gaddafi.

On Sunday, the General National Congress elected Ali Zidan, a human rights lawyer, as the new prime minister. His selection followed the dismissal last week of another prime minister, Mustafa Abushagur, who was unable to form a cabinet.

‘Turkey’s interception of Syria-bound plane an act of war OK’d by US’

October 12, 2012

Don Debar, an anti-war activist and journalist says the incident with Syrian plane in Turkey is a wake-up call signaling that NATO members are ready for open military confrontation, seeing this recent incident as step one towards Washington and London’s much-craved “No Fly Zone”. The west and NATO are desperate to bomb Syria in the same fashion as Libya, an adventure which would very likely lead to the same results with a protracted internal strife situation like we are seeing in Libya.

‘Gaddafi regime is a beacon of light compared to current Libyan gov’t’

October 8, 2012

The siege of Bani Walid, Libya’s ongoing political instability, and the alleged torture of Gaddafi loyalists has left the country a far cry from the vision that western powers had when they supported last year’s NATO bombing.

Geopolitical analyst Patrick Henningsen told RT that there’s no stability in Libya compared to before the onset of last year’s NATO bombing. But now as Bani Walid asks for UN help, Henningsen says residents shouldn’t expect much in terms of assistance.

Predictable Chaos: ‘Libya ungoverned & ungovernable’

October 8, 2012

Armed Libyan forces continue to surround the city of Bani Walid, Libya. As tension between government troops and opposition supporters continues to mount, residents have been left without food and other supplies — and are calling on the UN for help.

The siege of Bani Walid started because the National Congress wants to arrest the suspected murderers of the man credited with capturing Colonel Gaddafi.

The town failed to hand them over, but the siege is too strong a response exposing the government’s weakness, says journalist James Corbett.
